Walk/5K Run. Miles Against Melanoma, based in St. Charles, Missouri,
is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight
melanoma skin cancer by increasing awareness, supporting patients,
survivors and their families, and fundraising for research.
We invite you to participate in our 4th Annual Miles Against Melanoma Walk/5K Run. Miles Against Melanoma, based in St. Charles, Missouri, is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight melanoma skin cancer by increasing awareness, supporting patients, survivors and their families, and fundraising for research.
This event will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in Chesterfield, Missouri. The event will raise funds and awareness, while providing an atmosphere of family fun – including raffles, kid’s activities, refreshments, entertainment, vendors and free giveaways. We are expecting over 2,000 participants this year, including melanoma survivors, families (walking in memory or in support of a loved one), teams, healthcare providers and corporate representatives. This is not just a walk/run. It is an event for the entire family!
All proceeds benefit melanoma research, and your contribution will be fully tax deductible as we are a registered 501c3 organization. We are strictly a volunteer organization too, so no funds go to salaries. We all volunteer our time because of our passion for this cause. Our core purpose is to make a difference in the lives of people with the challenges of skin cancer by providing financial support and a hope for a positive future. We wish to educate the public and the medical profession about skin cancer, its prevention by means of sun protection, the need for early detection, and prompt, effective treatment. Your help enables us to take another step towards achieving this core purpose!
